Producing as-built PFD, P&ID 

To be able to guarantee a properly maintained and safe installation, the minimum Process Flow Diagrams (PFD) and Process and Instrument Diagrams (P & IDs) should be up to date and maintained.

Changes in the process are controlled by implementing a Management of Change procedure (MOC).

The MOC is aimed to assess, in a structured way, and evaluate possible process changes as to their influence on the process itself but also on the safety.

Since this is a paper exercise the basic documentation must be up-to-date. To carry out maintenance projects or programs P & IDs are of essential importance. Performing an "as-is" P & ID check is therefore a prerequisite for proper scoping.
PFDs are, seen the sensitivity of process data, always the responsibility of the owner of the installation.
